NCNCA Cup Finals...with all the trimmin's

Howdy 'cross fans,

Make sure to eat all your veggies on Thanksgiving, because coming up this Sunday is the season finals of the NCNCA Cup presented by Sycip, hosted by the SuperPrestige series in lovely Golden Gate Park.

In addition to a great course at a venue that has become one of NorCal's favorites, Sunday's event features a smorgasbord of NCNCA Cup activities. Following each race we will be awarding trophies to the podium finishers in all the Cup points categories. (Make sure you check out the points rules, kids, so there's no surprises.) Additionally we will be handing out a bunch of schwag in the NCNCA Cup Raffle, including the grand prizes of a Sycip CrossDresser frame and two, count 'em, two Sycip custom powder-coat jobs for your bike. Additionally this will be your last best chance to pick up NCNCA Cup T's and sox while they last. Check the NCNCA Cup blog for all the details.

Also note... though Sunday is the finals for the NCNCA Cup, this is not the finals of the SuperPrestige series, that will be coming up at Coyote Point in a couple weeks. Also on Saturday, a round of the leaner, meaner 2007 East Bay Cyclocross series in Dublin -- check the calendar for details.

Calendar and Cup Update

Sounds like the CCCX folks put on a humdinger of a race in Prunedale for the 4th event in the 2007 NCNCA Cup presented by Sycip. Aaron O'Dell proved that he's back in a big way with a win in the Men's A race, and Rachel Lloyd showed her huge skills in winning the Women's A race. See the Velonews report here.

In other calendar news, David Gill has released more info on the Peak Season series including news of this weekend's opener at a brand new venue, Pinto Lake County Park, in Watsonville. Shane Huntoon posted an update for the categories and times for the District Championships on December 8th. Also, the Sacramento folks have notified me (a while back, sorry) that their Finals are on Saturday, January 5th (to clear up the last remaining conflict - thanks) and that they'll be having a party and raffle later on at a local community center following the event.

NCNCA Cup #4 On Tap @ CCCX

Howdy 'cross fans,

Here we are in mid November and just about the midpoint of the season. This is where you find out if your early season fitness was just a flash in the pan or if you have hit a groove that will take you through to December (and January if you are a Peak Season fan.)
On deck this week: Round 4 of the NCNCA Cup presented by Sycip, hosted by Central Coast CX at Manzanita Park in Prunedale. Along with the Watsonville fairgrounds, Manzanita Park is one of the longtime classic venues of the 831 area code. Hernando did a writeup on the season opener at Manzanita, read it here. With hills, grass, a solid runup and a few technical bits this site has something for everyone. Just be prepared to suffer!

In other 'cross news, Saturday has a round of the Sagebrush series in Nevada for all you mountain folk. And for some of us this weekend is the pinnacle of the whole year: the Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships in Portland - great concept, and a pretty interesting format to boot. Enjoy!
