Get Ready to RRRRRUMMMMMMBLE!!!!

Can you believe it? The first race of the 2008 Cyclocross Season is this weekend at LARPD in Livermore.

Please note there have been a few changes to the Calendar so view the updated, rejiggered, and Google-fied calendar page. Most notably, the Sagebrush series had to shuffle around a couple of dates, and a couple other series' have ironed out their venues.

Best of luck to all racers for a safe and successful cyclocross season. Let the games begin!

Thank you everyone for coming out to race our first LARPD CX race of the 08 season. We got a lot of good feedback on the course. We will change it up a little each time for your racing pleasure. Please keep giving us your feedback and suggestions.
The pictures are posted on liveplayride.com on the Flickr acct. The results will be posted soon; they are being worked on.
This weekend should be a little cooler (lower 90's). We'll have a wash station set up on the other side of the registration building.
We look forward to another great race this Sat 9/13!

I just noticed the last minute schedule change by the CCCX gang. I guess the race is no longer on Saturday September 20th but now on Sunday September 21st. I know unexpected things come up, but this definitely blows for people like me who sometimes work weekends and have already made special advance arrangements to get this date off to race. Hopefully this won't happen again because I think this going to be the race result I'm going to drop because I probably won't be there.

THE LIAR OF FAIRFAX

A couple weeks ago, I decided to enter my kids in the Lyon of Fairfax race. Being new to this sport I didnt know what to expect. I thought the $15.00 reg. was pretty steep for a kids race, but the form said they were giving awards to all the kids. They had a generous cash purse of 6,000 for the pros. Awards for 5 places plus mediocre in all classes, Awards for all kids. Well after spending $35 for the pre-reg, packing my kids out of bed @ 6am on Saturday and driving 1.5 hours to get there, My kids finish the race to find out that only the top 5 receive awards and everyone else gets a little sucker. I am totally down with supporting a school, But my kids feel ripped off! Perhaps the pro purse could have been 5,990 and they could have spent 10 bucks on some ribbons. At least be honest. Your reg. said awards to all kids. Why did you fail to follow through?????

Fairfax did hand out medals to all kid finishers last year. Very poor mistake they made this year, I hear your frustration. There are other events/series that let the kids race for free.
